Thank you for your interest in this exciting role.

Islington is a borough of contrasts. It is a thriving area at the centre of a world city, yet it is also a very unequal place with high levels of deprivation and child poverty. However, Islington is also an amazing place to work and if you are passionate about contributing to long-term societal change for communities then Islington is the place for you.

I was honored to be the Head of Integrated Gangs, Targeted Youth Support and Youth Offending in Islington for several years as it is such a rewarding role. Islington has continued to invest in a full council-run youth service, via Targeted Youth Support, which has helped to support vulnerable children and divert many of them from offending. The Integrated Gangs Team is an award winning service* focusing on preventing escalation for those on the periphery of gang membership, whilst supporting those who are gang affiliated to exit such groups. The Youth Offending Service has overcome past difficulties to achieve its best-ever performance in the national youth crime indicators and lead on important projects such as examining the disproportionality of BAME young people in the youth justice system with the Youth Justice Board and City University.

If you have feel that you have the experience, skills and passion for the role then we look forward to hearing from you. Do apply!
